Ecoplus™ 105 Generates Interests from Local Authorities

Malaysian International Trading Corporation (MITCO) Sdn Bhd through the PETRONAS Polymer Technology Centre (PPTC) recently participated in the Waste Management Conference and Exhibition 2007 by setting up an exhibition booth. The conference was held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre from 7-8 August 2007.

This year, the event was officially launched by Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, Minister for Housing and Local Government, Malaysia. The main aim of the exhibition was to provide a platform for the discussion and dissection of timely, pertinent issues in the industry with regard to waste management. MITCO's participation enabled the creation of greater awareness on Environmentally Degradable Polymer as an alternative means to address waste management issues.

The conference was attended by more than 300 participants involving representatives from the Ministry Of Housing and Local Government, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, local councils, waste management concessionaires, consultants and non governmental organisations.

The exhibition successfully aroused much publicity while Ecoplus™105 received a tremendous amount of interest from various parties, especially the fact that it is a locally-made environmental product. This exhibition will hopefully provide a good avenue for further collaboration with waste management operators eg Alam Flora, Southern Waste Management, e-Idaman and Trienekens as well as local councils such as MPPJ and Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara.
